doc.haus
The changes in detail

Changelog

2.0.6
Improvements
  • Clients in one place. A new Clients page lists every client you act for. Add or edit one there, or type a new name when you open a matter; it is added once the matter is saved.
  • Zip files and email attachments. Add an email or a zip file and everything inside is read and searchable, listed under the email or archive it came from. doc.haus knows which email each attachment came with.
  • Client summaries. The new Client summary assistant writes in plain English for your client, with each source listed for you to check.
  • Record conflicts checks. Record a matter's conflicts check when you create or edit it.
  • Fill templates faster. Placeholders are colour-matched between the document and the list beside it: hover one to find the other, click to jump to it.
General
  • Setup offers a fictional sample matter to explore.
  • Each document shows how well its text was read; anything unreadable is flagged.
  • Click a review-table citation to open the source at that passage.
  • Auto tells you what it is doing while it picks a route.
  • Various UI improvements and minor bug fixes.
2.0.5
Improvements
  • Turn a Word document into a reusable template. Review the proposed copy and save it to your library, keeping the original unchanged.
  • A cleaner, calmer workspace. Buttons, cards, menus and icons now share one consistent look. The app also reads better on small screens and in high-contrast mode.
  • Stronger security. We updated the components doc.haus is built on, including the ones that handle the documents you upload, to close known security issues.
2.0.4
Improvements
  • Quick drafts in chat. Ask for a short email or letter and get a draft back in the chat. If it needs more, run the full drafting cycle with one click. In Settings, choose whether Auto asks first or starts a quick draft on its own.
  • Stop a chat answer partway and keep what it has written so far.
  • Answer a drafting question with "use your judgement" and the decision is made for you, then listed in the drafting notes to confirm.
  • Export the review table to CSV or Word as well as Excel.
  • Redaction also removes names from links, image descriptions and other hidden parts of a Word file.
  • Cleaner headings in drafts, and a check for broken cross-references and defined terms.
  • Various UI improvements and minor bug fixes.
2.0.3
Improvements
  • Compare two versions of a Word document. Download a blackline of every change, with edits the other side made without tracking listed first. Ask in chat and each change comes back with a note on what it does and who it favours.
  • Set your client once per matter. Add the client you act for and drafting knows whose side you're on without asking. How far drafts lean their way follows your Posture setting.
  • Upload the other side's marked-up Word file and their tracked changes are read as proposals, not agreed text.
  • Drafts carry page numbers, a dated draft line and, if you set one, your firm's legend.
  • Add emails and Excel files to a matter.
  • Uploading a file with the same name as an existing one no longer replaces it.
  • Various minor bug fixes and drafting improvements.
2.0.2
Improvements
  • Whole transactions in one request. Ask for every document a deal needs, such as a share sale's agreement, board minutes and a stock transfer form, and each one is drafted and reviewed, with drafting notes for the set.
  • Amend instead of starting over. Instructions sent after drafting amend the document, and the redline shows what changed.
  • Questions come with a recommendation where your sources support one. Click "Decide for me" to go with it.
  • Choose how documents arrive: one combined Word file or separate files.
  • Plainer drafting notes, available as a cover memo.
  • Faster uploads for large matters.
  • Various minor bug fixes.
2.0.1
Improvements
  • Pause a draft and continue later from the same step.
  • Fewer stalled drafts.
  • Easier installation.
  • Various UI improvements and minor bug fixes.
2.0

Major release

A team of agents. A clearer way to work.

Drafting and review assist your work; generated wording, source checks and open questions still need your review.

  • A team of agents on every draft. Specialist agents plan, write and review, and the reviewer can challenge the draft before it comes back to you.
  • Related documents in one request. Ask for a connected set, such as an agreement and its covering letter, and the documents can be prepared in order.
  • Checked against your sources. Reviewers can check drafts, quotations and citations against the matter documents and raise points that need a closer look.
  • Amend in Word. Ask for a targeted change to a Word document and get back a clean copy, a redline and separate notes where needed.
  • A Playbooks library. Keep your firm's positions, checklists and drafting guidance in one place and choose which apply to each matter.
  • A refreshed matter workspace. The conversation sits at the centre, with drafting progress, questions and documents close by.
  • Follow each drafting step as it runs, and answer focused questions when your judgement is needed.
  • Find exact wording and defined terms, follow amendments, and read text-based PDFs more reliably.
  • A larger review table with your own questions and Excel export.
  • Matter usage and estimated cost in one panel.
  • Optional case-law search through CourtListener, with your own key.
  • Various UI improvements, simpler setup and in-app update notices.

Earlier updates

Plan-first drafting & exact answers
  • Plan-first drafting. Before drafting, the assistants read every source, list the facts and issues, and write a plan. The draft is then checked against that plan.
  • Exact answers. Ask for a defined term, section or party and get the exact wording with its location, or an honest "not found".

Live legal research, permanent redaction & scanned documents
  • Live legal research. Statutes are retrieved live from official legislation sources in every supported jurisdiction.
  • Permanent redaction. Redact finds personal and sensitive details, asks your approval, then removes them for good, with a log.
  • Scanned documents. Scanned PDFs, filings and exhibits are read like any other document.
  • Drafts are reviewed against the matter documents before they reach you.
  • Search finds exact sections, defined terms and parties.
  • Hidden instructions in uploaded files are detected and flagged.
  • Various UI improvements.

Playbooks, templates & your firm's know-how
  • Negotiation playbooks. Reviews flag clauses that deviate from your playbook and propose your approved language as tracked changes.
  • Draft from your templates. Add a Word template, answer a few questions, and the assistant assembles the document.
  • Your own reviewers and workflows. Describe them in plain English and run them on any matter.
  • 30 jurisdictions, several per matter.
  • Quotations and case citations are double-checked.
  • New specialists for version comparison and obligations and key dates.
